The Love Of God
T here is nothing like the unconditional, sustaining love of God. Nothing can be compared to it. Oh, that the world would see and taste that the Lord is good.
God Is Love
The bible says that "God is love" (see 1 John 4:8 and 1 John 4:16). The bible also defines what love "looks like" in 1 Corinthians 13 where it describes all of the beautiful traits of love.
Here's how it describes love (God):
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
The Comforter
God is gracious and full of compassion. No matter what circumstances we find ourselves in, He is there for us.
He is there for the heart-broken, for those in dismay, for the hurt, for the lonely and for the lost.
Freely Given
His love is freely given. It's unconditional. Truly no strings attached. God even loves His enemies. His love is sacrificial.
Thank you Father for your love.
